Ajrakh Technique - The Ajrakh technique is an intensive and intricate process that combines natural dyes, pigment mixing, and mud resist block printing. Each piece begins with the meticulous application of mud resist paste, which creates a barrier to prevent dye absorption on certain areas of the fabric. Once applied, the fabric is dyed with vibrant natural pigments extracted from flowers, minerals, and other organic materials. The process of washing and repeating layers of color results in beautifully rich and vibrant designs, making each piece unique and full of character.
Quality Material - Made from sumptuous silk velvet, this top offers a soft, rich texture that ensures comfort and elegance in every wear.

To ensure that your beautiful piece looking fresh and vibrant for many seasons to come we recommend following these simple care instructions:
Gentle Cold Wash - immerse your Anjelms piece in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, wash with similar colours and cold gentle cycle are recommended.
Air Dry in the Shade - after washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the fabric quality and lay flat or hang it to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight.
Avoid Harsh Detergents - to preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach and ironing on a low setting only if necessary. -
The Ajrakh Collection is a collaboration work between The ANJELMS Project and Suffyian Khatri.
Cultural Significance - Ajrakh is a remarkable textile art form with a history spanning 4,500 years, distinguished by its intricate, double-sided hand block printing and resist dyeing techniques. This traditional craft primarily employs natural dyes sourced from plants, such as indigo and madder. The Ajrakh's complex and intricate process is meticulous and involves multiple stages, with each layer of color being block printed a day apart while utilizing a variety of hand blocks to create a unique custom block print that is then repeated across the fabric, resulting in stunning and detailed textile masterpieces.
Support Artisan Craftsmanship - with every Ajrakh piece, you’re not only making a conscious choice to support artisan craftsmanship and sustainable fashion practices but your choice will also contributes directly to the empowerment of Suffyian & his community in their journey of preserving their rich cultural heritage that honor people, tradition and the planet.
