The Ixora Tunic in White falls to the knee with hand embroidery appliques in various places, namely the blanket stitch around the collar and underarm panel in contrasting thread, and Ixora flowers (commonly known as the Jungle Flame Plant) that adorn the back panel and right hand sleeve that are native to Sittilingi, where Porgai Artisans live and work.

Made from Handspun, handwoven Organic Cotton, this comfortable and loose fitting dress features long sleeves and deep right hand pocket, adorned with naturally-dyed embroidery thread on un-dyed natural cotton that wears well in all seasons.

Porgai Artisans association works with Lambadi women artisans at Sittilingi, Tamil Nadu reviving the traditional craft of hand embroidery. In the process earning a “rural livelihood and discovering a life in dignity and self-worth.” The collection is made using organic cotton grown in the Sittilingi Valley. Through this collection, they represent the biodiversity of the area. The butterflies, flowers, and plant life that co inhabit their home.
