Hand Spinning Charka Box

| /

Step into the rich tapestry of Indian heritage with the Box Charkha, a meticulously crafted version of the traditional spinning wheel for contemporary use. Box Charkha embodies the spirit of preserving cultural craftsmanship and is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and community empowerment. Included with the Box Charkha is a package of locally sourced cotton puni’s, lovingly handcrafted by home-based women artisans to start your journey of hand spinning.

Mahatma Gandhi used the charkha wheel as an important tool for political emancipation, by using it as a symbol of economic and social reaction to the British Rule. He believed that "It is in the daily life where dharma and practicality come together and the spinning wheel was the realisation of this possibility." Gandhi believed that 1 hour of spinning a day was a form of meditation and was powerful in the resistance movement at the time.

Whether you're a seasoned spinner or a curious novice, our product is designed to cater to your needs and aspirations.
