Our short sleeve light aran cotton is a neat round neck shirt with pleats under the arms and a pleat at the back with a button allowing a loose fit in the body. This season, we have released this style not only in plain indigo but in our signature Hot Air Balloon print. This is a perfect piece to mix and match with garments that you already have in your wardrobe – like those favourite pair of jeans, or matching with our other Hot Air Balloon pieces from this collection. It also looks radiant with a plain indigo (our ¾ tie pants from this collection), or the full-length tie pants in cane bench print from our Made by Hand collection. Expertly printed by eye using hand-cut woodblocks by our team at The Stitching Project in Pushkar, this piece will be ideal for the hot summer days thanks to the coolness of this handspun voile cotton, while still protecting your shoulders from the sun.
This season, our indigo dye work has been done by award-winning printer Mr Girish, who is responsible for our Ajrakh print. The indigo produced is a shade darker than our own. Their vat is a traditional Indian vat fed with lime and sugar cake and it is 100% natural unlike many vats in India which have chemical added (synthetic) to accelerate the dyeing process.
Aran is a very fine handspun handwoven cotton slightly thicker than a voile to avoid transparency.
Each Anjelms piece is signed by the craftsperson of The Stitching Project who was involved in its making.
All our plant dyes are G.O.T.S. certified and hand-dyed on the grounds of The Stitching Project gardens. All wastewater is reused for gardening purposes to reduce wastage and damaging effect on our environment.
Designed in Fremantle, Western Australia. Made ethically in Pushkar, India by The Stitching Project.
