Made ethically from 100% handspun, handwoven midweight Khadi cotton and this skirt is true to size.
These skirts are designed in collaboration with Brisbane based ceramic artist, Bonnie Hislop and available in 4 colourways.
Pink & Yellow Candy Stripes – featuring our bold iconic block printed stripe and Bonnie’s love of playful, bright colours in her work, this motif is hand block printed with GOTS Certified ink on khadi cotton.
Indigo Trophy Print – based off her iconic Trophy Ceramic art pieces, we use a mud resist technique and hand block printed each motif with a mud composition that is left to dry. It is then dipped several times in a natural indigo vat to achieve the deep Indigo blue that we know and love here at The ANJELMS Project. Once the fabric is dried from the indigo dips, the mud is then scraped off and washed to reveal the most beautiful negative print. -
To ensure that your beautiful piece looking fresh and vibrant for many seasons to come we recommend following these simple care instructions:
Gentle Cold Wash - immerse your blouse in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, cold gentle cycle is recommended.
Air Dry in the Shade - after washing, avoid wringing out the pants to preserve the delicate embroidery and lay your blouse flat or hang it to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight.
Avoid Harsh Detergents - to preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics. -
Our garments are sustainably designed in Fremantle, Western Australia and ethically made by The Stitching Project in Pushkar, India.
All our dyes are Global Organic Textile Standards (G.O.T.S) Certified, and our fabric and processes are Craftmark Certified.
Our process starts with designs being hand carved onto wooden blocks. Then Pawan, our block printer at The Stitching Project places each block onto the ink board. This process is repeated a hundred times over with amazing precision and experience to create the perfect patterns. Each of our Garments is proudly signed by every craftsperson who has had a hand in making it.
