Reversible Jacket - Madder/Diamond Print
Our reversible jacket is a testimony of the level of craftsmanship of the team of
The Stitching Project who make all our garments. It encaptures the skills the team has mastered.
On one side, the jacket is made from handspun, hand woven local Khadi (cotton) which has been hand dyed in G.O.T.S. certified madder root then hand stitched by The Stitching Ladies in vibrant cotton thread. On the other side, the jacket has been hand block printed in our vibrant Winter diamond print.
The print and plain option make it such a versatile piece, easy to dress up and down. The double layered Khadi makes it warm and cosy in Winter while being breathable and light during the warmer months.
Sitting on top of the hip for a flattering line, with a round neckline allowing you to team it with a beautiful scarf or a simple collared shirt. This timeless jacket will become our go-to-piece every Winter to come.
All our plant dyes are G.O.T.S. certified and hand-dyed on the grounds of The Stitching Project gardens. All waste water is reused for gardening purposes to reduce wastage and damaging effect to our environment.
Our diamond print is inspired by the vibrant colours of the Nepalese prayer flags and their meanings: white symbolising air, red fire, green water and blue wind. These flags are a beautiful memory of my work in the country and travels with my daughter, Madeleine who designed the print. Together, we have decided that 10% of all sales of our diamond print will be donated to the Prema Metta Orphanage School Trust in Bodhgaya, India.
Designed in Fremantle, Western Australia. Made ethically in Pushkar, India by The Stitching Project.
