Clothe The Vulnerable with Thread Together

Clothe The Vulnerable with Thread Together

Our impact: $5 for a new wardrobe.

In Australia, 1 in 8 adults and 1 in 6 children do not have adequate access to essential clothing. Circumstances and disadvantage should not prevent people from accessing clothing to allow them to realise their full potential.

The clothes we choose to wear not only protect us from the elements but reflect and affect our confidence and self-esteem. Thread Together addresses this issue by providing new clothing to those in need, including women escaping domestic violence, homeless individuals and children, recent arrivals seeking refuge, the long-term unemployed, individuals re-entering the workforce, those emerging from long-term healthcare, and people rebuilding their lives after natural disasters.

Empower Migrants with The Social Studio

Empower Migrants with The Social Studio

Our impact: $25 provides 1-hour of dedicated employment and education pathways for 1 young person.

Many young refugees and migrants in Australia encounter challenges such as interrupted or no schooling, limited English skills, lack of work experience opportunities, and weak support networks.

The Social Studio helps overcome these barriers by offering a safe and supportive space where young people can gain work experience and qualifications, express their creativity, connect with industry contacts, make new friends, and build confidence as they establish their new lives in Australia.

Give shelter with The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

Give shelter with The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

Our impact: $15 provides a person seeking asylum in Australia a night of safe housing.

Families who have fled violence, war, and persecution often find themselves stripped of their basic rights in Australia while awaiting a decision on their legal status. During this period, which can last for years, many individuals live in a state of limbo. Without the right to work, an increasing number of people become destitute, with women and children being particularly vulnerable during this time.

For the past 16 years, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) has supported and empowered over 3,000 refugees and asylum seekers annually. Their assistance includes providing shelter, food, education, employment support, and more, offering hope for a safer and brighter future.
