For nearly 100 years, the Morbihan workshop Le Minor (formerly known as Manufacture de Bonneterie Lorientaise) has been a key supplier to the French military, particularly the French Navy. This military sweater, originally designed for the non-commissioned officers of "la Royale," has been reintroduced into the Le Minor collections, drawing from the archives to give it a new life. While it retains its traditional roots, this sweater seamlessly fits into modern styles and can be easily paired with casual outfits.

The ribbed knitting provides elasticity, making this historic military sweater a close-fitting garment that allows for ease of movement combined with the perfect length of the body to ensure this classic French army sweater remains comfortably in place, providing warmth without riding up during movement. This original Army Wool Sweater, knitted on Le Minor's flatbed looms in Guidel (Morbihan) and crafted from the same fine, strong, and unshrinkable wool yarn used by the French army.

• To ensure that your beautiful piece looking fresh and vibrant for many seasons to come we recommend following these simple care instructions:
  
  Gentle Cold Wash - When using a washing machine, a short 30°C gentle cycle is recommended. Do not tumble dry.
  
  Air Dry in the Shade - after washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the delicate fabric quality and lay flat or hang it to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight. 
  
  Avoid Harsh Detergents - to preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics. 

• Le Minor is renowned worldwide for its authentic marinière, which has been 100% made in France since the 1970s. The men's striped sailor suit is thoughtfully designed, crafted, and finished in our local Breton workshop.
  
  With a legacy of serving the most demanding customers, including the French Navy— for whom it produced the officer's sweater for 40 years—Le Minor possesses a wealth of expertise that has been passed down through generations at its factory in Guidel, near Lorient.
  
  Today, Le Minor continues to innovate and reinvent iconic Breton pieces, such as the sailor sweater and sailor's hat. This process involves the use of vintage machines that ensure the production of high-quality garments, requiring a unique and precise skill set. To preserve this ancestral art, the training of the new generation occurs in-house, allowing them to work directly with the machines and learn from the experienced seamstresses. This hands-on training is vital for maintaining the craftsmanship that defines Le Minor.
