and don't forget to like our page....

We are very busy designing new silk batik creations, leather clutches....
In the meantime, come and visit us at our Fremantle Markets store. We have the new Drilles espadrilles for which each sale will help support East Timorese communities by providing them with 9000 litres of water ( half the yearly need for a person.) or support a micro financing project in disadvantaged communities.

We also have a new delivery of handmade fair trade paper from Bengladesh which is candy to the eye!

Charmaine, from Desert Shadow, is now in the Far trade Corner offering her amazing henna art designs and advising you on all her natural beauty products from hair colour to face scrub...

As i am new to the blog business, i promise the next news will be a lot more colourful and full of photos.

See you there.

New Beginning!

Thursday 12th of March

Today is indeed a day of new beginning with the resolution of giving my Anjel Ms customers and friends weekly informations and update on what is happening in our Fremantle markets store, our products and in our fairtrade community.
With a new computer and the help for a dear friend, i have gathered my self taught computer skills (be patient, i will get better at it as we go! )
to launch myself in the world of blogging.
So to start with
,i will just share a few facts about Anjel Ms as a project.

First, where does our name come from?
Our project was born in Ubud, Bali when i met with a couple of balinese ladies my father in law was helping. We struck an amazing friendship as women from diffirent cultures, upbringing and lifestyle but we discovered we had the same desire to provide for our children and give them the best education possible. We loved the same things ,laughed at the same jokes ,but most of all marvelled at the beauty of balinese culture and its traditions. With my experience in fashion and my love of textiles especially silk ,we started wandering in weavers workshops, markets to draw inspiration and started drawing sketches for fun.
One night, I had a vivid dream of having a store all white with the Anjel Ms letter on the wall. I told Arik the next day about it and we decided to start contacting a few of her friends who had patternmaking and sewing skills. Upon my return, we emailed each other ideas, sourced traditional fabrics and 3 months later ,Anjel ms opened its first stall at the Fremantle Village Art Markets.
The name i had read on the wall had all the initials of the people who had inspired me to start this project:
A for Arik
N for Nick
J for Jero
E for ?
L for love of others

M for Maddy, Mamyvonne,Mavis, Mike and Made
S for Sasha
Angel Michael was the nickname Arik and Jero had given Nick's father ,Michael for his help.
So, we were blessed from the start.

From now on, you will know to always put a J in Anjel so Jero does not feel left out and Ms is pronounced (ems) for all the Ms in my life!
Tomorrow ,I will tell you more about the projects we support..

Have a great day

Gaelle
